Mall Madness

November 29 – December 5, 2019

I went Black Friday shopping on Friday with a friend at the Rideau Centre Mall. I of course bought some goodies at La Senza, Sephora and a gourmet candy store called Squish. I’ve known about it for a while but this as the first time I had bought a package from them. The had a bunch of holiday flavours out and I got their Holiday Twins pack. I tried a sample of them in the store and fell in love! They were two flavours joined together making apple-cinnamon, cranberry-elderberry, and vanilla-ginger. After I was done shopping, I drove over to Popeyes to pick up chicken for supper. I finally got to taste their chicken sandwich! This is the 3rd time I’ve gone to Popeyes and they finally had them in stock!

Saturday night I went out for a birthday dinner to Play Food and Wine. I ordered the venison tartare, ricotta gnocchi with brown butter, squash, feta and pumpkin seeds, and scallops with smoked bacon, brussel sprouts, and maple chili. For dessert, I got a baked Alaska for the first time. It’s a layered type cake with sorbet and a meringue surrounding it all.

Sunday I got up early to go shopping for December supplies and run errands. I decorated online and had a great first night to begin the month!

On Monday I did some more planning for the upcoming week and birthday show. I made ornaments on cam that night too. You can tip 404 tokens in my room and I’ll put them on my tree with your name on it. After December, I’ll send it to you in the mail so you can hang it up on your tree next year!

Tuesday I gathered a gingerbread recipe to use on Wednesday for my baking show and went out to buy the necessary ingredients. One of the items I needed was cookie cutters. It took me an hour to find them! I looked at a dollar store and 2 Walmarts and I finally found them at a Michael’s!

On Wednesday it was snowing in Ottawa! I went for a quick walk with a hot chocolate and took in the fresh snow look on the trees. For the rest of the day I set up the baking show and I had a lot of fun on cam making the cookies!
