Stress and Relaxation

This week was a stressful week with a day to get away from it all. I also got to see something I never have before!

Friday I had a busy day planned, but one of my plans I decided not to follow through with. I found an ad on Instagram a couple of weeks back that Robert Herjavec was putting on a free business seminar. It was advertised that Robert or his team would host the seminar about becoming a successful entrepreneur. The night before, I researched how other people who went before thought of it. I couldn’t find a single positive comment in the forums. People were complaining that it was focused on real estate and they were trying to get you to buy into a paid seminar. So, I decided not to go and waste my time. Instead, I relaxed at home watching Netflix.

Later that night, I had got tickets to see TKO (an MMA event similar to UFC, but Canadian) in Gatineau. It started around supper time, so I just grabbed some pizza delivery. It was my first time watching MMA live right in front of me! I’m so glad I had the seats I did. It was the perfect spot to watch. The atmosphere was insane; so much positivity and excitement. I had a really great time!

Saturday was a super chill, rainy day. Before cam, I was cleaning and doing laundry. Nothing fancy for supper this week, but a tasty burger from Burgers n’ Fries Forever (BFF). I had their “The Shroom” burger combo. It was a beef burger with sautéed mushrooms, swiss cheese, and garlic aioli. I got it “to go” as it was still raining and I wanted to eat it at home, so it got a little squished.

Sunday was a gorgeous sunny day, so I wanted to get outside before cam. I decided to walk around the Byward Market. I found out that it was the Ottawa Tamarack Race Weekend, so there were a lot of roads were closed off for it. At Starbucks, I had a cool little concoction called Affogato (seen below). It’s black coffee with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I also stopped at a memorial on Sussex. For supper (and leftovers for other meals) was shawarma!

Monday and Tuesday were spent trying to fix the new website issues. Tuesday was a rainy day, perfect for running errands after my morning workout. I edited some more photos going into June’s photo set while on the balcony between rain falls.

Wednesday was Nordik day! Nordik Spa-Nature is the largest spa in North America, and it’s located just outside the Gatineau Park in Chelsea, QC. Most of what they have are outdoors. They have 10 pools (hot, luke-warm, and cold), 9 saunas (dry, humid, and aromatherapy), 4 restaurants, an exfoliation room (they were doing maintenance when I was there), and lots of meditation/relaxation rooms. For an add-on, you can get access to an Epsom salt water indoor pool. I didn’t get it this time, but it is amazing as you feel completely weightless floating in a shallow pool on your back with a neck pillow. You put in earplugs and listen to the calming music they play underwater. This visit though, I wanted a massage. It’s been so long since I’ve had one. Cell phones weren’t allowed out in the spa (for obvious reasons) so the only pictures I took were in the locker room.

I’ve been to Nordik around 5-7 times since I’ve moved to Ottawa, and it’s great to go in any season. If you’re ever in the area and have time to relax, I definitely recommend checking it out.

When my day was done, I realized I had claimed a sunburn and a pretty dark one at that. When I had left the apartment in the morning, it was 12 degrees Celsius and all clouds. It never once crossed my mind to bring sunscreen. Well, the sun did come right out and it went up to 20 degrees Celsius.

Thursday was the last day of the month for camming as I am not online on Fridays. We ended up getting #12 or May! Also, congratulations to the raffle winner, you know who you are!

Thanks for reading!

xoxo Lacey
