April 19 – 25, 2019
Wow! My website is finally here! I started planning this at the beginning of March. By the time you read this my website will be live! Also, thank you for joining a membership and supporting my new endeavor!
Let’s begin on a rainy Friday the 19th. I had an earlier start than I normally do. I was too excited to start planning my first boy/girl video, and I wanted to run errands. I stopped at my P.O. Box to pick up new boy-short lace panties I was gifted. Lunch was a succulent portobello mushroom and goat cheese burger with fries. Next, of course, came working on my website and getting my CCBill account set up until it was time to stuff my face once more.
I ventured just across the bridge to the Quebec side to a fantastic little restaurant. I’ve been there a few times in the past, but I found out they had a new menu. Arriving, I instantly regretted not making reservations, but with luck, it was only a 5-minute wait. I ordered a delicious and beautiful cocktail made with gin, blueberry syrup, cider with roasted marshmallow and pine garnishes. For the appetizer, nachos topped with turnip, onion, BBQ sauce, sour cream, and tomato. My main was a tasty duck and risotto dish with brussel sprouts and tangy chips in a sweet maple sauce.
Jumping over to Sunday morning, it was time to film my first boy/girl video. It was so much fun and definitely a change in pace from when it’s just me in front of the camera. After putting it all together, I went for a walk to the water’s edge in Ottawa to inspect the flooding. I walked up to it and put my feet in the freezing cold water. Back home I set up for the Easter Party happening that night on cam (filling Easter eggs, sneaking some chocolates into my mouth…).
Bright days put me in a bright mood. Monday was a perfect example. A gorgeous day to go out for a stroll: sunny, 18 degrees Celsius and not too windy. Downtown Ottawa was bustling with tourists coming up now that it’s warming up. Walking up to the Cenotaph, I got to witness a “Change of the Guard”. The warm air felt amazing on my skin. An upgrade from being covered by a thick winter coat for months. It was great to have a taste of summer, even just for one day.
After a morning of cleaning, I was finally delivered my dining chairs with the right shade of wood Tuesday afternoon. For those you haven’t heard my rant online, I ordered a dining table and chair set in mid-October last year. Confusion and miscommunication between the store and manufacturer delayed the delivery from the predicted 4-6 weeks, to finally being delivered in 5 months. Once it all came (in March), the wood backing on the chairs didn’t match the table top wood. More complaints were made to the company/store, and they ordered new chairs.
So, now back to Tuesday, I was told the delivery men were supposed to assemble at my place. I just needed to change the wood backings, not the full chairs. But, the guys said they needed to bring back the correct serial numbers. Also, when I asked them to assemble the chairs, they gave me a puzzled look and said, “No, we don’t do that.”. I figuratively rolled my eyes thinking, of course you don’t. Calling back to the store, I learned that it was actually supposed to be pre-assembled, so it would be finished when delivered. After all this frustration, I made an appointment for people to come to assemble it at my place on Friday this week, and I went to relax on the balcony. Not a sunny day, but still a great temperature.
Thursday consisted of threats of the flooding getting worse. The latest news is highway ramps are being barricaded off on the Quebec side, people are being evacuated from their homes and Ottawa is bringing in the military to help out. Fortunately, it is highly unlikely for my apartment to be affected by the flooding.
Overall a happy week with small amounts of frustration. Spring is here and Summer is trying to poke through here in Ottawa. It makes me want to get out and walk in the fresh air. Soon I’ll be digging out the bike!
Thank you for reading.
xoxo Lacey
